Brightening the Cave

Our mission: Make the bathroom look less like a tiny cave-like hole. This is what it looked like BEFORE:

The sink, the lights, the curly mirror, the DISGUSTING bamboo blinds in the shower...pretty much everything had to go.

Ta da! Here is the new bathroom, to date.

We knew this room need some BRIGHT paint, since it is a dark little hole when the shower curtain is closed. So we went with simple, modern white. Holy moly, does it make a difference! Ian rewired this entire room, so we went a week or two peeing by work-light hooked up to an extension cord. Lovely.
This is the new Ikea sink/cabinet combo. We also put in a medicine cabinet (which there was at one point, but at one time or another was taken out and covered over...badly.)
The floor still needs to be replaced. For the time being we will be putting down new linoleum floor. But in the future we will take out the bath surround and tile the entire bathroom (bath area, floors and the walls (halfway up). Whoever put the current floor in was too lazy to take out the old sink, before putting the floor in UNDER it. So for now we have a some funky 80's tile peaking out from under the sink.

Plus I get to feature my favorite image from our honeymoon, since it goes fabulously with the rest of the bathroom.
